Individuals are required to pay various taxes such as advance tax, self-assessment tax, and TDS/TCS throughout the year.
While filing an income tax return, these taxes that have been already paid can be claimed as tax credits and hence reduce the tax payable.
There are three ways to add tax credits:
Autofill Tax Credits
- In the Filing tab, navigate to work on your tax return → tax credit
- Tap on the autofill
- Select the method to connect with your ITD account
- OTP on Aadhar Registered Mobile Number
- ITD Portal Credentials
- Tap on authorize
On successful connection with the ITD, you will see the tax credits details on the next screen.
The autofill feature will help in fetching your tax credits details directly from the ITD.
